Dedicated Servers

Starting with version 2.5, H-Sphere supports dedicated hosting. Dedicated servers feature automates your leasing entire servers, foth your own and your provider's ones, to your end users granting them full control over the server.

H-Sphere performs complex billing procedures for dedicated hosting. However, it is not designed for physical administration of dedicated servers. Before adding a server to the system, prepare it according to your clients' preference: provide hardware, install operating system and software to ensure their web presence. If you apply any changes to dedicated servers via the interface, you have to effect them manually on the physical level. This means that if, for instance, extra IPs are added via the interface, the same physical actions have to be done. Or if a dedicated server was withheld from an account, you also need to block access to the server for the client who had been owing it and manually clean up the server to prepare it for future use.

Templates vs custom-built servers. Dedicated servers are added to the system from templates in which server's OS, CPU, RAM and disk space are specified. Custom-built servers are implemented to satisfy requirements even of the most demanding of your customers.   More >>

Billing. You can choose between two basic approaches to bandwidth/traffic calculation: average and 95th percentile. When creating dedicated server plans, determine prices to charge your customers for a server and its maintenance, extra IPs, traffic, etc. Based on these prices, the system will charge client accounts at the end of every billing period, whether collecting money online from client credit cards or sending checks to be paid by clients. H-Sphere will also suspend debting accounts and issue refunds for unused services.   More >>

MRTG. Logical servers of this kind receive servers' traffic data from network switches and display traffic graphs to end users.   More >>

Maintenace requests. Backup manager shows you servers' backup schedule. Clients' requests for remote reboot, adding extra IPs, server upgrade and cancellation are dispatched to you by the trouble ticket system.   More >>
